Enhanced Plunger System Performance in Paraffinic Well Conditions
Location: Montney, Canada.
Low Condensate Gas Ration (CGR) and sludgy effluent challenged the design and operation of a freecycle plunger system. The Flotexx AL additive provided the downhole environment required for successful and stable plunger operation that increased and stabilized the CGR.
The increased liquid ratio to gas reduced liquid saturation that eliminated loading events. In addition to delaying the need for gas lift, the reduced OPEX and improved production was a net benefit of $15,000 per month.
The Producer Wanted Reliable Plunger Operation
Artificial Lift in the Montney formation is costly with the various hydraulic and mechanical challenges. Due to the frequent downtime and liquid loading events, the producer wanted to see if reliable plunger operation was a viable option before the gas lift system was installed ($200k Capital Expenditure).
TVD: 2800M
BHT: 78°C / WHT: 23°C
C30+ Content: 23%
Plunger Type: Free-Cycle
CGR: 0.5 e3m3/m3-0.8 e3m3/m3
From the time the plunger system was installed, downtime due to the mechanical and hydraulic obstructions was experienced.
What ACI Proposed
Flotexx AL Additive conditions the effluent and lubricates the tubular to provide an ideal environment for plungers to function effectively that optimizes natural well energy.
"Flotexx functionality and reduces OPEX in challenging well conditions "
Operational and Economic Efficiency
Flotexx AL additive improved productivity and reliability that resulted in a combined monthly benefit of $15,000, it also delayed the need to install a gas lift system.
ACI combines operational expertise and exclusive production chemical technologies to assist producers in minimizing organic deposits from the wellbore to the sales point.
